"If you want to improve, be content to be thought "If you want to improve, be content to be thought foolish and stupid." -Epictetus I originally fell in love with this quote after hearing it in the movie 'Serendipity', and it's always stuck with me as an entrepreneur and a human being. When you're running a businesss, whether it's by yourself, with a team, profitable, or a side hustle, it is WORK. And it is RISK. It is sleepless nights and a smile on your face when everything is falling apart, and it is also tiny moments of celebration that no one else understands and the public highlights that make the cut. It is humbling. It is hard. It is beautiful. It's one of the only things I know in life that can be all of those things—and still make those of us destined for entrepreneurship (which I think is truly all of us) crazy enough to do it. Because in the end, there's nothing else like it. And I wouldn't have it any other way. I got the chance to share my story of building @wearempco with @canvasrebel recently and it brought up all these memories of times i took that risk and all the ways it paid off. I want to thank them for allowing me to share those stories of risk, triumph, and failure along the road to building MP Co. And another thank you to @blncdbrkfst for always being part of that journey over the years and coming up in those stories. And of course @ericathewriter for reccomending me to the series! You can't have the up without the down 😂 but the highs are totally worth it. Not to mention entrepreneurship made it possible to even take off for Italy in the first place, and that’s pretty special 💙

Last night was special. One year ago yesterday, D Last night was special. One year ago yesterday, Dec 7, I married my very best friend under twinkling lights and surrounded by our closest friends and family. The next day we set off to Vermont for our honeymoon at what remains one of the most special times of my life in one of the most magical places, @twinfarms For our first wedding anniversary this year we went back to VT to experience the towns we fell in love with while on our honeymoon, and explore what it might be like to live there in a few years. (An option we’ve started seriously exploring) As an anniversary surprise, @bostonsax called Twin Farms to see if there was any way they would host us for an anniversary dinner —something they never do (you have to be staying there to dine with them). He told them about our honeymoon there and how incredibly special the property was to us and by some miracle, they agreed to host us. Not only host us but go above and beyond to make it the most amazing first anniversary we could ask for—including pre-dinner cocktails and canapés(like their famous homemade chips!) a 7-course meal tailored to our preferences (they even made all of Jack’s food vegetable free 😆) and dessert that was a callback to the cupcakes we had at our wedding 🥰 We couldn’t have asked for a more special first wedding anniversary and I’m so grateful to everyone that helped make this so wonderful for us and of course my husband. I’ve been calling him that for the last year, but it still doesn’t feel real. What a very magical first anniversary. ❤️

Some days it’s hard to believe that I’m the same person now that I was then. Others, it’s obvious. The last 12 years of personal and professional growth have been staggering. This doesn’t look like much I know, but I wanted This doesn’t look like much I know, but I wanted to post this so that 6 months or a year from now I can look back and remember—because today was a really good lesson. It was the lesson where I finally held my strength against a very stubborn Morgan (and won!). Where I gained confidence, got her to listen and respond how I wanted, and even got her to do a trot nearly fully around the corral (with a few reminders along the way). It was a definite victory and I feel super excited about it.
